KINSMAN -- Judy Roskos Sutton passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Warren on May 29, 1955, to Susan Krupinsky and John Roskos Sr., Judy grew up on a Cortland farm and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1973. She pursued her passion for caregiving at Choffin School of Practical Nursing, working at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and in several private medical practices.
Judy married Malry Sutton Jr. on May 20, 1983. While Mal was a big talker, Judy was a kind woman of fewer words who spoke through her devotion to family. She was an amazing mother to Megan and Kristin and a doting grandma to her girls.
A multitalented woman, Judy was an avid gardener famed for her summer roses. From woodworking to macrame, there was no craft she couldn't master. She was also a legendary baker known for Thanksgiving pies; a lifelong animal lover who showed her horse, Tony, in 4-H; and a groomer of countless neighborhood dogs.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Mal; her parents; her second father and uncle, Andy Roskos; her brother, John Roskos Jr.; and her sister, Stephanie Bertleff.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Megan (Jordan) Baley of Austintown and Kristin Sutton-Harris (Stephen Harris) of Worthington; her granddaughters, Juliana Baley and Ora Harris; her sisters, Dolores Baksi of Galesburg, Michigan, and Linda Stahl and Kathy (John) Bertleff, both of Cortland; several nieces and nephews; and her adored dogs, Tula, Lola and Charlotte.
Family and friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman. A funeral service will be immediately following at 6 p.m.
To honor Judy's spirit and love of gardening, guests are asked to wear floral prints instead of black.
