Irene M. Johnson 1939-2026
WARREN — Irene Marie Rucker Johnson, 86, died Thursday, May 21, 2026, at her residence, following complications from an extended illness.
She was born June 22, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Carlise Sr. and Tommie Lee Davis Rucker.
Mittie retired as a nursing aide at Albert’s Nursing Home. She was a member of New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ivan L. Johnson of Warren; daughters, Erin T. Johnson, Roxanne M. Johnson and Yvonne Hale, all of Warren; one sister, Darlene Rucker of Warren; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Eric T. Johnson Sr.; seven brothers; four sisters; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, with calling hours 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
