Grant A. Sanzenbacher 1962-2026

HOWLAND — Grant Alan Sanzenbacher, 64, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, in a tragic motorcycle accident in Howland.

He was born May 25, 1962, in Warren, the son of Richard Lee and Bonnie Jean Hunter Sanzenbacher.

A 1980 graduate of Lakeview High School in Cortland, he also attended New Castle School of Trades, graduating in 1981. He then began working in the maintenance department at the former Warren General Hospital and continued through the transition to St. Joseph Warren Hospital, dedicating nearly 45 years of service. Warren General Hospital was his second home, and he loved hanging his WGH ornament on the Christmas tree every year.

Grant was an active member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warren. He loved to travel on Caribbean vacations, work on home projects inside and out, exercise, and spend time with his closest friends and family. He was extremely handy and helped countless friends and family members with any type of project. His work ethic was unmatched as he set high standards for himself and the work he did. He very much enjoyed helping others in any way possible and took great pride in maintaining his home and landscaping.

Grant is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 36 years, Maureen Shirley Musolino Sanzenbacher, whom he married Aug. 5, 1989; his estranged daughter, Chloe (Chase) Grendys of Grayslake, Illinois; his cherished son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Dylan (Angela) Sanzenbacher of Vermilion, both of whom he was incredibly proud and loved more than life; two granddaughters; his mother; and a sister. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Millie.

He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away May 28, 2021, and his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Marianne Musolino.
