Frances Jean Roscoe 1929-2026

WARREN — Frances Jean Roscoe, our beloved mother, passed to God on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 96, at Shepherd of the Valley Assisted Living Facility.

She was born Oct. 18, 1929, to Camillo and Angeline DiCristofaro Veri of Warren.

She was the third of four children and joins her brothers and sisters in God’s grace. She was an inspiration and served as a shining example of her faith. As a devout Catholic, she shared her love and faith in God with all those she encountered. Her relentless pursuit of health allowed her a rich and full life. We are blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be deeply missed.

Franny graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1947 and in 1950 from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Northside Hospital and worked there until 1951. She returned to nursing in 1972 at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital and finished her career as a case manager for the Ohio Rehabilitation Commission in 1992. Fran was active in the church as a lay minister, Eucharistic minister and lector for St. Vincent de Paul and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic churches in Vienna. She also helped organize the Altar and Rosary Society, now known as the Women’s Guild. She was an avid reader, as well as a member of the Garden Club and Women’s Investment Club. She loved traveling with her husband Ed and friends, attending musicals, opera and the theater.

She was married to Edward H. Roscoe on Sept. 30, 1950; they had 55 wonderful years together as well as nine children, David, Jeanne, Joanne (Karl Eberle), Edward, Mark (Tamara), Julie (John Gaeckle), Jacquelyn, Christopher and Joseph (Dana).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (2005), and daughters, Jeanne (1997) and Joanne (2005).

She is survived by her seven children, 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and an honorary sister, Valerie Seaborn, who loved and admired her.

She greatly appreciated the staff and community at Shepherd of the Valley for their kindness, attention and loving care during her stay in assisted living for the last 18 months.

Visiting hours will take place 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at Kyle Funeral Homes, Vienna Chapel, 4471 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 4453 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473, with the Rev. Steven Agostino officiating,

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery alongside her husband, Edward, and daughter, Jeanne.

Fran was a generous donor to many charities and requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015; or St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 4453 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473.
