Earl William Butts 1940-2026

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving as a jet mechanic in the Strategic Air Command. Following his military service, Earl dedicated over 35 years to General Motors before his retirement. He was also an active member of Living Lord Lutheran Church, where he faithfully served as an usher and on the property committee.

A gifted mechanic who could fix absolutely anything, Earl had a lifelong passion for model trains and cars. Above all, he loved dogs and could often be seen around the neighborhood walking his beloved companion, Mandy.

Earl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia; his son, Mark (Catherine) Butts of Pasadena, California; his daughter, Joyce (Mark) Blythe of Lexington, South Carolina; his grandson, Zachary Blythe, also of Lexington; and his brother, Kenneth (Linda) Butts of Pennsylvania.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the animal rescue charity of your choice, in memory of Earl and his love for animals.
