Delores J. Datchuk 1933-2026

McDONALD -- Delores J. Datchuk, 92, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in McDonald, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Sedlecky Kijowski.

Delores was a 1951 graduate of McDonald High School and was employed in the housekeeping department at Glen View Manor Nursing Home, Mineral Ridge.

She was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish-Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald. She enjoyed cooking, as she made the best stuffed cabbage in the world, and baking Christmas cookies every year that everyone looked forward to. She also loved gardening, growing flowers, listening to and watching the birds on the back porch, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Her husband, Edward Datchuk, whom she married July 31, 1954, passed away June 21, 2016.

She will be sadly missed by a son, Edward D. Datchuk and his wife, Deborah, of Hubbard; a daughter, Christine L. Datchuk of McDonald; a brother, John Kijowski and his wife, Bonnie, of Ponce Inlet, Florida; two sisters, Joann Prine and her husband, George, of Sarasota, Florida, and Joyce D'Errico of Niles; two grandchildren, Kevin Datchuk (Christina), and Kelli Paden and her husband, Ron; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Everett and Spencer Paden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Joseph "Sonny" Kijowski and Stanley "Bud" Kijowski; one brother-in-law, Salvatore "Sam" D'Errico; and one nephew, Joseph "Joey" D'Errico.

Private services will take place at a later date.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
