Barbara A. Deceder 1954-2026
NILES — With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Barbara Ann Deceder, 72, who passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of Thursday, June 4, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born Jan. 15, 1954, in Youngstown, Barbara was raised in Berlin Center and graduated from Western Reserve High School. She lived a life centered on love, faith, family and friendship, touching the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit, warm heart and wonderful sense of humor.
A friendly and familiar face within her community, Barbara enjoyed socializing and playing bingo with her friends at Edison Senior Apartments in Niles.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Patsy A. Deceder Jr.; her parents, Louise G. Deceder and Pasty A. Deceder; and her grandparents, Clifford and Manetta George.
She leaves behind her loving sisters, Patricia A. Dierkes, Mary L. Hartzell, Susan (Kevin) Felger and Ruth Ann Deceder, along with many cherished family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Though Barbara’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy of kindness, generosity and love will continue to live on through the family and friends she cherished so dearly.
The family has chosen to hold a private gathering at a later date to celebrate Barbara’s life and cherish the memories she leaves behind. No public services are planned.
Condolences may be shared with the family through Willow Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s honor to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
