WARREN -- Arretas Oliver "Bud" Johnson, 87, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at his residence in Springville, Indiana.
Born Oct. 15, 1938, in Warren, he was the son of Henry and Grace Earhart Johnson.
He married Toby Joanne Dye on Jan. 1, 1963.
Bud retired as a press operator at Packard Electric and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bedford Baptist Temple, and prior to moving to Indiana, was a member of Leavittsburg Baptist Church, where he served as choir director, deacon and financial secretary for many years. He also had served as president of the Chalker High School Band Boosters in Southington for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Toby, of Springville, Indiana; two sons, Eric (Carla) Johnson also of Springville, and Edward Johnson of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Donna (Gary) Lewis and Ruth Pfaff; two brothers, Dick (Joanne) Johnson and William Johnson; and his sister-in-law, Sher Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William Johnson; sister, Peg Dawson; three brothers, Jack Johnson, Edward Johnson and Harold Johnson; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Bedford Baptist Temple, Bedford, Indiana, with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Visitation took place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, also at Bedford Baptist Temple.
A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Crown Hill Burial Park cemetery, Vienna.
