CORTLAND -- Allen Angles, 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Allen was born Feb. 18, 1948, in Slippery Rock, Pa., to the late Ellis and Gertrude Knotts Angles.
Allen dedicated more than 55 years of his life to the meat-cutting profession, a career he took great pride in. He worked for many years at Sparkle Market on Parkman Road in Warren before later going into business with his son-in-law, Steve Caldwell. Allen was known for his strong work ethic, honesty and integrity. Those who knew him often said he was one of the most honest men you could ever meet.
Outside of work, Allen enjoyed watching the Cleveland Guardians and fondly remembered his younger days racing cars. He also shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Yellow Man, who was a constant companion.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Dawn.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Gertrude Johnson Angles; his son-in-law, Steve Caldwell; his granddaughter, Marissa Caldwell; and his faithful cat, Yellow Man, along with family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In keeping with Allen's wishes, private family services will take place.
