Sandra F. Honzu 1940-2026

She was born Oct. 21, 1940, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Howard W. Sr. and Hazel Jackson Greenfield, and resided most of her life in Niles.

Sandy gave her life to Jesus in March 2025. She took great pride and devoted her time to her family and church family. She was a member of Holiness Gospel Mission in Niles, where she loved attending all the church functions.

She was a dedicated notary for 30-plus years and also worked at Bombay Bicycle Club in Niles.

Sandy is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” (Sue) Cover of Mineral Ridge, Richard “Rick” Francis, with whom she made her home in Niles, David (Debbie) Francis of Weathersfield Township, Paul (Melissa) Francis of Niles and Bethann Francis Nolen of Warren; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and her brother, Charles Greenfield of Mesquite, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Honzu; daughter, Debra S. Saxon; grandson, Kristofer VanHorn; and three brothers, Howard Jr., Claude and Jack.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Holiness Gospel Mission, 25 N. Butler St., Niles. A luncheon will follow at the large pavilion in Waddell Park, Niles.
