Raymond T. Van Cleave 1943-2026

WARREN – Raymond T. Van Cleave, 82, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Lexington, Nebraska, the son of Raymond and Agnes O’Meara Van Cleave.

Ray graduated from high school in Nebraska and served his country honorably as a corpsman in combat in the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps.

He retired from General Motors after 32 years of employment as an employee assistance representative.

An avid racquetball player, he was a longtime member of the YMCA who also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was devoted to helping others and worked with many people in recovery.

Precious memories of Ray live on with his two sons, Thomas of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Michael Van Cleave of Warren; his brother, James Van Cleave of Blair, Nebraska; and several nieces, nephews and their families who adore him and think of him fondly.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Mary Ann Blivens and Alice Vollmer; and two brothers, Dennis and Robert “Butch” Van Cleave.
