Peter J. Laprocina 1931-2026

SEBRING — Peter J. Laprocina, 94, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Peter was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Warren, the son of Nick and Ann Marie Rinaldi Laprocina.

Peter was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Peter retired after 34 years of service as the superintendent of the Warren Water Treatment Plant. During the course of his employment there, he was nominated by Union Local 74 to chair the committee overseeing healthcare for city employees. In 1966, after two years of negotiations with the City of Warren, this committee succeeded in the first-ever 50% paid hospitalization for all city employees, including all Warren firefighters and policemen.

Peter was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge.

Peter enjoyed reading and gardening and especially enjoyed dancing at Idora Park. He belonged to the Howland Senior Bocce League, the Tamer Win Buckeye Golf League and the Crest Senior Bowling League. Peter was also a member of the Italian American Club of Warren.

Peter is survived by his daughter, Linda (Jim) Bourne of Columbus; grandson, Adam Cross; great-grandson, Jackson Cross; great-granddaughter, Avery Cross, all of Texas; granddaughter, Chelsea Cross of Columbus; daughter, Ann Marie (Richard) Baldwin of Hartville; and grandson, Michael Baldwin of Kent.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Barbara Laprocina; his four brothers, Gabriel, Roland, Frank and Tony. He was also preceded in death by his five sisters, Clara Wolford, Helen (Joe) Joseph, Nellie Klush, Marge (Don) Culver and Sue (Bob) Kidwell.

Per Peter’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
