Patricia Ann Swipas 1937-2026
WARREN — Patricia Ann Swipas, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
She was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Warren, the daughter of John Carlton and Thelma Belle Clark Viney.
Patricia was a 1955 graduate of North Bloomfield High School. She continued her education at Trumbull Memorial School of Nursing and graduated in 1958. She worked as an RN at the Trumbull County Health Department for eight years and Trumbull Memorial Hospital, from where she retired in 2009, after 33 years.
She was a member of BPW and CCL and was the president of Champion Band Boosters, the Champion PTO, Ruth Circle and the Senior Citizen Advisory Council.
She was also a member of Champion Christian Church.
Family meant the most to her, especially her grandchildren. Patricia loved taking stats at her granddaughters’ softball games, attending her grandchildren’s activities and collecting angels.
She is survived by her son, Brent (Kim) Swipas of Warren; daughter, Susan Swipas of Columbus; granddaughters, Lindsay (Chris) Travis, Victoria Swipas and Carli (David) Ritz; great-grandchildren, Brooks Travis, Everett Travis, McCoy Travis and Grayson Ritz; brother, Dick Viney; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 64 years, Joseph Andrew Swipas.
Services will be noon Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jamey Winters will officiate.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
