Kathryn K. Cain 1943-2026

Kathryn was born Feb. 1, 1943, in Green County, Pa., the daughter of the late Archie and Mildred Moose Sole.

She retired from GE Ohio Lamp after 38 years.

She was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church, Hartford Eastern Star of Ohio and the Cortland Moose Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Cain; two brothers, Charles Sole and Rex Sole; and one sister, Freda McVay.

She is survived by her sons, Howard “Wayne” (Tracy) Cain of Deatsville, Alabama, Robert “Bob” (Diane) Cain of Cortland; six grandchildren, Dory (Jason) Hand of South Carolina, Nathan “Nate” (Tiffany) Silva of Alabama, Malia (Scott) Thomas of Alabama, Adam Cain of Florida, Jared (Emily) Cain of Farmdale and Reese (Haley) Cain of Alabama; and six great-grandchildren, Lillyona Douglass, Reila Hand, Wyatt Scott, Lucas Cain, Brady Cain and Wynston Cain.

She is also survived by two sisters, Verena Wilhide of Farmdale and Shirley Cain of Champion; and one brother, Ralph (Karen) Soles of Hundred, W.Va., along with many nieces and nephews.

In honor of Kathryn’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orangeville Methodist Church, 7850 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, PA 16150, in Kathryn’s memory.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Gillette Nursing Home for their compassionate care and support during Kathryn’s time there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
