Gloria Jean Colitte 1940-2026
NILES — Gloria Jean Colitte, 86, of Niles, has joined the angels. Her passing took place on Tuesday May 19, 2026, St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1940, in Warren, to her father and mother, George and Anna Bizilo Regalia.
Gloria was a graduate of Girard High School, and worked various jobs over the course of her life, such as an employee of Delphi Packard Electric, a payroll clerk for the Niles City Schools Board of Education and sold clothing for many years.
Gloria married the love of her life, Donald “Ducky” Colitte on April 28, 1962. The two made a beautiful life together, raising three children in Niles and devoting their lives to the Catholic religion. Donald passed away on May 14, 2021, and has been awaiting reunion in heaven. May they now live on in everlasting harmony.
As a proud Catholic, Gloria shared God’s word and lessons with many people in her life. She was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Blessed Mother Society, church festival volunteer, Rosary Group and Young at Heart Group. She had a profound devotion to The Blessed Mother and was a dynamic force in every life she touched. Once you met her smiling face, you never forgot her. She also spent many years feeding the homeless with her husband “Ducky” during their retirement in Stuart, Florida, and was always crocheting or making sleeping mats out of grocery bags for the homeless as well.
Gloria loved to plan and organize parties, cook for large gatherings, crochet, play games on her laptop, watch movies, and go out every Tuesday to Gasoline Alley with her niece, Sue Fritz.
Gloria is survived by her three children, Georgiann “Cricket” Padovani (spouse Bob), Andrea Altringer (deceased spouse John) and son, Michael Colitte (spouse Tracy); as well as by her brother, Gregory Regalia (spouse Paula); sister, Carol Miller (deceased spouse Russ); and three grandchildren, Alexander Colitte, Dominic Altringer and Emily Colitte.
