LORDSTOWN -- Dora "Dori" Mae Lickwar, 75, formerly of Lordstown, passed away peacefully at 1:23 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
She was born June 28, 1950, to the late Robert D. and Margaret Mason Fairchild in Leavittsburg. Dori graduated from high school in Warren Township in 1968.
She went on to marry the love of her life, Jerry, on March 18, 1970, and together they built a life in Lordstown, where they raised their two daughters, Christy and Stacy.
Dori spent many years working at Peerless Windsmith, Delphi and R.C. Cook Insurance, where she valued working alongside her sister, Reba. Her heart was always with her family and helping others. In 1997, she earned her associate degree in criminal justice from Kent State University, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
She had a passion for motorcycle rides with her husband and was a former member of the Goldwing Touring Association, proudly riding with the "Gone With the Wings" Chapter G. She also enjoyed being part of a dart team, collecting and reading Stephen King books, watching true crime television and relaxing with a margarita.
More than anything, Dori loved her family "as big as the sky." She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and found great joy in having them around.
She spent her final two years in Georgia living with her daughter, Stacy, who lovingly cared for her while her dog, Mia, remained faithfully by her side.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Robert D. and Margaret Mason Fairchild; her husband, Gerald; her daughter, Christy; and her siblings Lloyd, John, Juanita Chittock, Reba Cook, Kathy Navarre and Margaret "Margie" Karr.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Michael); and her beloved grandchildren, Samantha "Samerjam," Noelle "Nellie," J.D. "Moe," Mykaela "Birdie Girl," and Abigail "Crabby Abby."
A brief, intimate service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the chapel at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, followed immediately by burial.
