Donald W. Fridley Jr. 1956-2026

NILES — Donald W. Fridley Jr., 69, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Warren, the son of Donald W. Fridley Sr. and Shirley J. Nutter Fridley. Don grew up on Front Street, where he formed lifelong friendships and was surrounded by a large, close-knit family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He treasured those early years, including many trips with his parents to West Virginia, where they would visit family.

Don was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School. Over the years, he enjoyed staying active, bowling, playing Texas Hold’em, going to concerts and spending time with his children while cheering them on through their many activities and milestones. He dedicated 42 years to General Motors before retiring as a team leader.

In retirement, he embraced life fully, enjoying golf at Riverview with his wife and friends, traveling to the beach and taking daily walks with his wife. Above all, Don cherished time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and a loving grandfather. He spent many afternoons with his grandkids shopping and riding the train at the mall, watching their games, going to the movies and playing around the house.

He attended Warren Baptist Temple, where he was recently baptized.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Fridley; son, Donnie (Sara) Fridley III; daughters, Tyler (Bob) Sefcik and Rachel Fridley; and grandchildren, Jackson, James, Landry and Emerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 6 p.m. Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate.
