Brian A. Carpenter 1968-2026
WARREN — Brian Allen Carpenter, 57, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
He was born on Halloween, Oct. 31, 1968, in Philippi, W.Va., to the late Joseph V. Carpenter and Goldie E. Carpenter.
Brian carried an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold throughout his life. A proud graduate of Philip Barbour High School, Brian relocated to Ohio, where he became a fixture in his community. He was widely respected for his tireless work ethic and his genuine commitment to helping those around him.
Brian was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest peace in the quiet of nature. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and spent years meticulously building a collection of baseball cards. He stayed closely connected to his community through local news and was always the first to offer a helping hand — whether it was a complex task for a neighbor or babysitting his beloved great-nieces and -nephews. Above all, Brian was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter to any room.
Brian’s legacy of kindness lives on through his son, Christian Joseph Allen. He is also survived by his siblings, Willie and Sharon Wendell and Timothy and the Rev. Lisa Helmick; along with a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews who adored him.
He now joins those who went before him, including his parents, Joseph V. Carpenter and Goldie E. Carpenter; and his three brothers, David L. Helmick Sr., Lewis V. Carpenter and Kevin Carpenter.
A celebration of Brian’s life to honor his memory and the impact he made on all who knew will begin 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Central Baptist Church, 1301 North Road SE, Niles, OH 44446.
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
