Andrew A. Gray Jr. 1938-2026
WARREN — Andrew A. Gray Jr., 87, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, following a short illness.
Born on Dec. 4, 1938, in Dubois, Pa., the son of Andrew and Mary Frost Gray, Andy was a star athlete at Reynoldsville High School, holding many school records in football and baseball.
Following graduation, he relocated to Warren in 1959, and began working at Copperweld Steel for 40 years, first as an overhead crane operator and then as a crane repairman, until the mill closed in 2000.
Andy enjoyed playing golf on the Copperweld league and others in the area. Most recently, he and his partner, Terri, enjoyed birding, especially searching for eagles in and around Mosquito Lake. A die-hard Steelers fan, Andy also took great pride in their lawn and his garden.
He is survived by his fiancee, Terri Gilbert of Warren; his children, Christina (Brian Callahan) Stone of New Port Richey, Florida, and Gina (Brian Skoog) McCrone of St. Paul, Minnesota; granddaughter, Tiffany (Drake Franklin) Stone of Palm Harbor, Florida; and great-grandchildren, Arya and Xander Franklin-Stone of Palm Harbor, Florida. In addition, nephew, Jason (Beth) Gray; great-nephews, Gunnar and Gavin; great-nieces, Olivia and Ally Gray; brother, Robert (Diane) Gray and family; nieces, Denny Henery and Dawna Kniseley and families; along with ex-wife, Roseanne Gray.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his son, James A. Gray; sisters, Marie Betts and Betty Bell; brothers, Dewey Gray and Charles Gray; and nephews, Billy Bell and Dewey Gray Jr.
Cremation has taken place with services being held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
