Alice A. Simerlink 1935-2026
WARREN — Alice Ann “Annie” Simerlink, 90, of Howland, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Oct. 14, 1935, Alice was the beloved daughter of Chester and Ada Mackey Finney. She was the only daughter in her family and grew up alongside her four brothers, a role she cherished throughout her life.
Alice graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1953, then went on to comptometer school.
In 1968, Alice met the love of her life, Donald Simerlink, at an Amway meeting. The two were married a year later and began their beautiful life together, blending their families of three children each, in what they fondly considered their own real-life “Brady Bunch.” Alice held many jobs throughout her life, but her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was raising and caring for her six children.
Alice and Don shared a love for travel and simple pleasures, spending many cherished days at their camper at Lake Village campground in Andover and at their cabin in West Virginia. These places became the backdrop for countless treasured family memories.
Alice is survived by her loving children, Pamela Cain of Howland, Merilyn Gibbs of Kinsman, Cindy Coleman of Brookfield, Scott (Leslie) Simerlink of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Greg (Gloria) Simerlink of Howland. She also leaves behind her brother, Will (Char) Finney; and sisters-in-law, Connie Finney, Bea (Larry) Kunkle, Lynn Melone and Esther Sisson.
She was a devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Ron, Jake, Amelia, Adam, Lizzy, Joy, DJ, Kandis, Michael, Brandon, Ryan, Jonathan and Justin; and a proud great-grandmother of 26 and great-great-grandmother of nine. Alice was also blessed with bonus daughters, Anita Lach and Barb Hynes, as well as several step-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald Simerlink; her son, Kevin Mooney; her son-in-law, Rick Gibbs; and her infant daughter, Kimberly Mooney. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, Bob and Terry Finney.
Alice was laid to rest in Crown Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
