Sharon Kay Walters 1960-2026

WARREN — Sharon Kay Walters, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born on March 1, 1960, in Youngstown, she was known for her creativity, generosity and compassion toward her family and friends.

Sharon was a creative person who celebrated special events with gifts of homemade cakes and crocheted blankets.

Sharon dedicated her career to serving others and worked for the state of Ohio at the Youngstown Developmental Center. Later, she retired from Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare in Cleveland. Many clients and colleagues will fondly remember her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Evadean Mason Walters and Glenn Walters.

She is survived by her children, Roy Walters, Angel Strohmeyer and Erica Strohmeyer; her cherished grandchildren, Lilly and Nikolas Walters; and her siblings, Glenn (Jean) Walters, Melissa (Victor) Nolen, Keith (Shelly) Walters and Becky (Michael) Chuppa.

A celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Warren, with a reception to follow at 611 Indiana Ave., Niles.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in Sharon’s name, to the American Cancer Society.
