Ronald Paul Presco 1953-2026

CORTLAND — Ronald Paul Presco, 73, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic, of complications related to a brief illness.

Ronald, affectionately known as Ronnie to close family and friends, was born Jan. 6, 1953, the son of Verne Michael and Ann Marie Renkovic-Voytko Presco.

Raised in the village of McDonald, where he met many of his lifelong friends, he attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grade School and was a 1971 graduate of McDonald High School. Ronnie attended Youngstown State University and later entered the tool and die apprentice program at Packard Electric, graduating in 1983. Ron worked in the toolroom for many years and was later elected the 717 union committeeman for the United Electrical Workers Association. In that role, Ron represented the skilled trade workers at Delphi Packard Electric Systems for 10 years. He retired from Delphi in 2006.

Throughout life, and especially after retirement, Ron enjoyed golfing and was a member of many leagues throughout the Mahoning Valley, including the 717 CU Golf League at the Mahoning Country Club. He enjoyed yearly ski trips to the Rockies with family and friends. Ron understood the importance of service and volunteered with many organizations, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family, offering his time, skills and support without hesitation.

Ronnie was a natural critical thinker and gifted problem solver, never afraid to learn a new skill. Whether tackling a simple math problem or taking on a full home renovation, he approached every project with passion, dedication and persistence. He possessed an electric personality, effortlessly forging enduring friendships and consistently discovering reasons to celebrate. He worked tirelessly to support his beloved wife and children, whom he greatly cherished.

He leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Elaine Ludwick Presco; a son, Brian Paul Presco of Columbus; and a daughter, Veronica Ann Presco of Cortland. He is also survived by a brother, Michael (Linda) Presco; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Terri Presco, Kathleen Kossivas, James (Nancy) Ludwick, Lawrence (Deanna) Ludwick and Tricia (Joe) Len; cousins, Trish (Ray) Makara, James McConnell, Paul (Ingrid) McConnell, Patrick McConnell and Mary Louise (Gabe) Hluchan and their families; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his aunts, Barbara (Eugene) Presco McConnell and Mary V. Presco; and his uncles, Joey Voytko and Johnny (Jennette) Voytko.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. Mary Church, 232 Seneca Ave. NE, Warren, OH 44481. All who know and love Ron are welcome to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.

Entombment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.
