Robert G. Snyder 1948-2026
WARREN — Robert G. “Bob” Snyder, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home.
Bob was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Cortland, a son of George and Margaret Savanyu Snyder.
He was a graduate of Champion High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. He later obtained a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University.
Robert dedicated 38 years to the Warren City School District, beginning his career at Turner Elementary School and later serving as assistant principal at Warren G. Harding High School.
He was a longtime member of the Wolf Lodge and the Champion Alumni Association.
A proud Ohio State alumnus, Bob was an avid Buckeyes fan whose season tickets were one of his most prized possessions.
Bob is survived by his children, Kate Snyder (John Gwilt) of North Olmsted and Mark Snyder of New York City; and his nephews, Doug Barhoover of Cortland, Ken Barhoover of Sagamore Hills, Tim Barhoover and John Barhoover, both of Cortland, and Christopher Barhoover of Bristolville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gregg Robert Snyder; and his sister, Carol Barhoover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lifebanc, 4775 Richmond Road, Cleveland, OH 44128.
Professional arrangements have been entrusted to Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel.
