Mary V. Carr 1924-2026
NILES — Mary Virginia Carr, 101, passed away surrounded by her friends and family on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Canton.
She was born May 27, 1924, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of French and Millie Hawkins Brannon. Mary was the youngest of 10 children.
Mary was a homemaker and attended North Mar Church. She loved quilting, reading, singing, traveling, going to Florida with her daughter, shopping at Talbots and going on walks, especially with John Moll.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Elaine Bonk; son, Jerald Lee “Jerry” (Jackie) Carr; grandchildren, Jerry Ray, Karen Lee and Robin Renee; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a niece, Charlotte Givens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Carr; son-in-law, JB Bonk; nine siblings; and a niece, Brenda Jones.
Services will begin at noon Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
