Mary Louise Allgood 1924-2026
WARREN — Mary Louise Allgood, 101, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026.
Mary Louise Moore was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Williamston, North Carolina, to proud parents Daniel and Della Moore. From humble beginnings, she grew to become a woman of strength, grace and enduring faith, whose life would touch generations.
At an early age, Mary Louise developed the values that would guide her throughout her life — hard work, resilience, compassion and a deep love for family. She carried these principles with her through every season of her long and fruitful life, becoming a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Daniel and Della Moore; her brothers and sisters, Charlie, Daniel “Dick” Moore Jr., Raymond, Aileen, Dorothy, Shirley and Paul; her devoted husband, George Franklin Allgood; her son, Jerry Moore; and a host of relatives too numerous to name, all of whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Mary Louise was united in marriage to George Franklin Allgood, and together they built a life rooted in love, commitment and family. Through the years, she devoted herself to adopting and raising her children, nurturing them with care, discipline and unwavering support. Her home was a place of warmth, strict guidance and love.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her beloved sister, Raye King of Baltimore; and her children, Irene Stringer, Virgil Allgood, Vickie Poole, Veronica Allgood, Vincent Allgood, Donald Allgood, Shaunna Morris, James Allgood, Gregory Allgood and Tamika Allgood. Each of them carries a part of her spirit, her strength and her legacy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Allgood, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family; she leaves a legacy that will continue to live on through each life she touched.
Mary Louise lived a long and full life, marked by perseverance, faith and devotion to those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. All who know and love Mary Louise are welcome to attend and celebrate her incredible life.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
