Lotus L. Walters 1929-2026
WARREN — Lotus L. Walters, 96, of Warren, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Gillette Nursing Home.
Lotus was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Warren, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Gladys (Porter) Roth.
On Dec. 18, 1949, she married her childhood sweetheart, Richard D. Walters, and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage until his passing on Feb. 19, 2020.
Lotus was a 1947 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where she was involved in National Honor Society, a capella choir, editorial staff of “Echo,” senior play committee and GAA. She also attended Hiram College, where she was a member of Delta Chi Delta.
She was employed for many years as executive secretary to the sales manager of Brainard Strapping Division of Sharon Steel Corp. She was a 60-year member of Morning Light Chapter Ohio Eastern Star. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for many years and the Howland United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin brothers, Ronald C. Roth, who died as a baby, and Pvt. Randall C. Roth, who died Nov. 3, 1943, in World War II.
She will be dearly missed by her friends Jill, Lori, Pauline, and Susan, who was blessed to have her as a second mom.
Per Lotus’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Roth family plot, Home Cemetery, Youngstown.
