Karen Marie Horvath 1948-2026
CORTLAND — Karen Marie Horvath, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
She was born Dec. 4, 1948, to the late Kenneth and Dorothy Evans Ambrose.
Karen was a proud graduate of Lakeview High School, Class of 1965. She had a deep passion for gardening and was a dedicated master gardener. Karen generously gave her time to many organizations, including the Sutliff Museum, the Trumbull County Historical Society and the Upton House. She was also an active member of several book clubs and found immense joy in reading and lifelong learning. Her faith was important to her, and she was involved with Grace Methodist Church and Champion Christian Church.
Karen will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert J. Horvath; her children, Andrew (Colleen) Davis and Toby (Dean) Walker; her cherished grandchildren, Cole Davis and his companion, Morgan Rubin, Mathew Davis and his companion, Kait Totani, Tiffany (Jason) Ridenour and Stephen (Abbie) Leonhard; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Albert, Jonas, Henry, Willow and Dean. She is also survived by her brother, William (Terry) Ambrose; nieces and nephews, Ross Ambrose, Aaron (Chiho) Ambrose and Allyson (Tim) Russell; and her great-niece, Charlotte and great-nephews, Riley and Tyler.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Ambrose.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program.
