John A. Myers 1947-2026
SAN ANGELO, Texas — John A. “Jack” Myers, 79, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026.
Born Feb. 2, 1947, in Warren, Jack was the son of John and Virginia Myers.
From an early age, he displayed a remarkable passion for aviation, earning his pilot’s license at just 16 years old under the instruction of Ernie Hall in Howland. He became the youngest student to do so at that time. Jack loved traveling to Montana, golf, fly fishing and cars.
Mr. Myers is survived by his daughter, Alissa Myers; his beloved grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Cody Smith; his sister, Sue Blosser and husband, Jim; and his longtime companion, Mary Anne Boyd.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career with GTE Corp. in Florida and Texas. After retirement from GTE, he was with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for 10 years in Texas.
Jack will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his nation and his enduring passion for flight. His legacy lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
