Joaquin Tabor 1982-2026
NILES — Joaquin Jon Phillip Tabor, 43, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his residence.
Born Nov. 24, 1982, he was, above all else, a devoted father. His sons, Donovan and Devonte, were his whole world and he poured his heart into every moment he spent with them. Whether he was watching his sons play soccer or on the sidelines cheering them on, watching wrestling with them, playing video games or out in the backyard throwing football routes and shooting basketball, those were the moments he loved most.
A 2001 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, he was a proud member of the Niles Red Dragons football and basketball teams and also competed in track and field, where he threw shot put and discus. He was part of the 2000 Red Dragons football team that had a historic season — an experience he carried with pride throughout his life. His love of sports never left him and remained a lasting part of who he was. He was a devoted fan of the Gators and the Ravens and enjoyed sharing that passion with his boys. He also had a creative spirit — he was a skilled artist and writer — and had a sense of humor that could bring laughter even in difficult moments. That humor, along with his deep love for his family, is how he will be remembered most.
He is survived by his sons, Donovan Tabor and Devonte Tabor; his ex-wife, Lisa Tabor; his sister, Jada Tabor, and her wife, Dwan Tabor, along with their children, Isabella Tabor and Parker Tabor; his sister, Tawnyka Tabor, and her children, Jevon Tabor and Isaac White; and many loving family members and friends.
Joaquin was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Tabor; his dad, Lou Tabor Jr.; and his father, Edward Craft.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Private services will take place at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, Niles. To share a memory, send a condolence or browse our selection of gifts, please visit Joaquin’s tribute page at www.josephrossifuneralhome.com.
