Finley Ruth 1951-2026
WARREN — Finley “Ron” Ruth, a loving, gentle and humble husband, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026 in the comfort of his home with his wife, Jennifer, and two cats, Nica and Bogey, present.
Ron was born Feb. 20, 1951, in New Martinsville, W.Va., to Finley and Mabel Riggenbach Ruth. He was the youngest of the three siblings. Ron lived in New Martinsville most of his life and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1969.
After graduation, he attended school in Akron to become an electrician. Initially, Ron worked for Riggenbach Tile before being hired at Bayer Material Science, where he worked for 34 years as a commercial electrician.
He loved reminiscing about his co-worker friendships, and it was apparent how he enjoyed working with all of them. He also served as a trustee at the company credit union. It was always great catching up with co-workers during retirement luncheons. In 2008, Ron moved to the Warren area and eventually started at Glenbeigh as an intake coordinator until 2019 after a CVA.
Ron was like a cat with nine lives to those knowing his medical history, and he just worked hard to overcome any deficit. Throughout life, Ron enjoyed the “Golden Oldies” music of the 1950s and 1960s, biking, every kitten Jennifer dragged home, golfing, Pittsburgh sports — especially the Steelers — and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was active in various sports his kids were in and later enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey. Not much slowed him down as he zipped up and down the street in his scooter to watch golfers, visit neighbors or supervise Jennifer on how to trim the bushes.
Ron and Jennifer met at First United Methodist Church, Warren, in small group Bible studies. They were married May 23, 2015, by Pastor Rick Oaks. Ron served as a trustee at church, sang in the choir and was helpful in many ways as a member. After First UMC closed, membership was transferred to Howland United Methodist Church.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his son, Ryan Ruth (Marti); five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a nephew; two nieces; and many cousins.
Preceding Ron in death were his daughter, Rachel; his sisters, Nancy Riley and Dorothy Downing; and a nephew.
A 2 p.m. celebration of life will take place Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Howland United Methodist Church, Warren. Visitation for family and friends begins at 1 p.m. Pastor Rick Oaks will be officiating.
