Beverly Wick 1931-2025

MAROA, Ill. — Beverly Wick, 93, formerly of Warren, passed away at 6:28 p.m. Sept. 21, 2025, at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski, Illinois.

Beverly was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond J. and Pauline Naomi Meeker Sullivan. She married Thomas Caswell in March 1951. He passed away in 1996. She married William C. Hoff in 1973. He passed away in 1982. She later married Walter Wick in 2009. He passed away Dec. 25, 2016.

Survivors include her children, Thomas R. (Karen) Caswelch of Los Angeles, California, and Douglas E. (Coleen) Caswell of Maroa, Illinois; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. With her marriage to Walter, Beverly gained six stepchildren.

The family would also like to mention Nancy Gougarty, who started out as Bev’s boss at GM and quickly became like a daughter to her/family. They had a loving friendship that endured even after Bev’s retirement. Nancy frequently made trips back to Ohio to visit her and the family over the years. She later would FaceTime with her at the nursing home when possible, causing Bev to find one of her big and beautiful happy smiles.

Also, Bev developed a close connection with her sitter and friend, Sylvia Dougherty and her family in Illinois, who helped care for her over the past eight years. She would often take Bev shopping, to a concert in the park or even to her home for a visit. This gave respite to Bev’s family often. Sylvia’s love and devotion were steadfast even up until Bev’s last breath, which she took surrounded by family and friends. The family is so very grateful for her love and care of Bev.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond H. Sullivan.

Beverly worked for General Motors in their Packard Electric Division from 1964 until her retirement in 1994. She had tried out for the Radio City Rockettes and was accepted to dance in the 1964 New York World’s Fair. She owned and operated two dance studios and enjoyed ballroom dancing. In 2017, Beverly moved from Arizona to live with her son in Maroa, Illinois. Beverly enjoyed animals and golf, and she was an excellent seamstress. Her favorite color was turquoise. Beverly was a great caregiver and loved her family very much.
