Audrey M. Simmons 1959-2026
WARREN TOWNSHIP — Audrey M. Simmons, 67, passed away peacefully into eternal rest Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born April 7, 1959, in Warren, a daughter of Kenneth Marlin Schick Sr. and Symanthia Shirley Mann Schick. Audrey lived her entire life in Warren and graduated from LaBrae High School in the Class of 1977.
She married the love of her life, Bobbie Lee Simmons, on Sept. 10, 1977, and they enjoyed 48 years of wonderful marriage together.
Audrey worked for 10 years as a housekeeper at Washington Square Nursing Home and for five years as a mold cleaner at Venture Plastics in Newton Falls. She also worked for six years as a teacher’s’ assistant and a bus aide at Head Start in Warren. Audrey enjoyed being the treasurer for the Warren Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her most treasured time was spent being with her grandchildren. She also loved cooking and playing cards with her mother and brother, as well as driving in car adventures around Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Schick Sr., and her son, Jason Simmons.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Bobbie L. Simmons of Warren Township; her mother, Shirley Schick of Warren; her daughter, LaRue Simmons (Aubrey Beadle) of Niles; her sons, Matthew (Laura) Simmons of Niles and Kevin (Jessica) Simmons of Howland; one sister, Patty (Wayne) Cipra of Newton Falls; one brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Schick Jr. of Leavittsburg; 10 grandchildren, Caleb, Abbey, Gabe, Lilly, Corbin, Mariah, Finley, Autumn, Oaklyn and JJ; six step-grandchildren, Johnny, Madison, Matthew, Trace, Violet and Baily; and one great-grandson, Waylon.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the James Funeral Home, Newton Falls, with Pastor Mike Nail officiating. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Audrey will be laid to rest in Lordstown Cemetery.
