Annette E. Carpenter 1960-2026

MILTON TOWNSHIP — Annette E. Carpenter, 66, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

She was born Feb. 6, 1960, in Elkins, W.Va., a daughter of the late Wilford James Simmons and Frances Lee Gibson Simmons. Annette lived in Milton Township for the last 26 years and was formerly of Newton Falls, where she graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1978. She married the love of her life, Harold Ray Carpenter, on Oct. 7, 2000; he tragically passed away July 25, 2008, after only seven years of marriage together.

Annette worked as a dispatcher for Durango Express Trucking Company for 12 years, retiring in 2012. She was a member of the Pricetown Methodist Church and she served as a committee member for the Zip City Riderz nonprofit organization.

Annette loved fishing, cooking, traveling all over the world, gambling, canning, gardening and doing puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold.

Annette is survived by four sisters, Evelyn Gear of Diamond, Charlotte Simmons of Newton Falls, Charlene Simmons and her companion, Bruce Bruner of Newton Falls, and Dolores and Donnie Peterson of Newton Falls; one brother, Rodney Simmons of Newton Falls; four nieces; and five nephews.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Zip City Riderz nonprofit organization, 3526 Hallock Young Road, Newton Falls, OH 44444, in her memory.
