Rose Marie Adair 1944-2026
CORTLAND — Rose Marie Adair, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Sugar Grove, a daughter of Henry and Christina Daubenmire Kilbarger.
She was a 1962 graduate of Logan High School. After high school, she worked in a credit union before becoming a full-time mom. In December 1965, she married her husband, Alan Adair. Together, they shared over 60 years of marriage while raising four children. She dearly loved her family and cherished yearly beach vacations, especially to Ocean City, Maryland, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which were frequent destinations. Rose was a faithful member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland, where she was active in church and charitable activities. She also enjoyed participating in a women’s bowling league and card club.
Rose and Alan built two new homes while living in Cortland for 50 years. All their children live within a short distance of their home. She loved the closeness of family and deeply loved entertaining and helping to care for her seven grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her husband, Alan; her sons, Troy (Anna) Adair and Brad (Sandy) Adair; her daughter, Tracey Lezaic, all of Cortland; her grandchildren, Thomas Adair, Paige Adair, Evan Adair, Alec Adair, Jacob Lezaic and Isaac Lezaic; and her brother, Edward Kilbarger of Logan. Her extended family, including many nieces and nephews, brought her immeasurable joy.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Nye, Dolores Krannitz, Marjorie Lehman, Julia Kilbarger and Jim Kilbarger; her son, Mark Adair; and her grandson, Zachary Adair.
Calling hours for Rose will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, 204 W. Main St., Logan, OH 43138, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. John Catholic Church in Logan, with the Rev. Father Jean Luc Zadroga. A Christian wake service will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan.
