Merlyn J. Richards 1942-2026
CORTLAND — Merlyn Jane Richards, 83, of Cortland, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
She was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of Merle and Francis Burns Fell.
She was a homemaker most of her life, only working as a kitchen aide at Meadowbrook Manor for a while.
She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In 2001, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Richards, whom she married in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, April Zedaker; and three brothers, Lyle, Richard and Dale Fell.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Westview Cemetery, Vernon Township, with Rev. MaryAnn Rufener officiating.
