Larry Criddle Sr. 1949-2026

BRISTOLVILLE — Larry Criddle Sr. passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at UH Geauga Medical Center after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Warren, to the late Robert Criddle and Gail Cribbs Criddle.

Larry was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1967, and lived in Bristolville with his wife and best friend, Barbara, whom he married June 1, 1973. They enjoyed life together for over 52 years.

Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked as a pipefitter for Local 669 for 34 years and retired from Fire Foe Corporation after providing years of fire-protection services. In his free time, he enjoyed breeding rabbits when his children were young, being a 4-H adviser, working with his hands and watching the Cleveland Guardians and sometimes the Cleveland Browns, who never failed to disappoint. He was an avid collector of M&M memorabilia and a watcher of birds out the window. He loved sharing stories about the times he spent with his dad picking up milk for Criddle Dairy. He also enjoyed drag racing his 1970 Rallye 350 during his teenage years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Chrissy (Lee) Howard of Charleston, South Carolina; his son, Larry of Bristolville; and four grandsons, Christopher (Michele) Rachkofski of Charleston, South Carolina, PFC Nicholas Rachkofski of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jordan Criddle of Bristolville and Matthew Howard of Charleston, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Missy; his sister, Barbara (Tony) Quinn; and his brother, Ron (Sue) Criddle.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Criddle; and his sister, Carol Sankey.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff at UH Geauga Medical Center for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals.
