Jerome E. Gilligan 1936-2026

WARREN -- Jerome E. Gilligan, 89, of Warren, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Warren, a son of the late Charles and Mary Muldowney Gilligan.

Jerome was a veteran of the United States Army. He later retired from General Motors after 35 years.

Jerome enjoyed sports and would always cheer on the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He also liked to golf and bowl. Jerome was part of the Golden Gloves of America Boxing Program.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Grimwood Gilligan; daughters, Cindy (Tim) Zeter and Dawn (Ralph) Williams; son, Jerry (Dorothy) Gilligan; daughter, Melissa Kale; son, Tod (Stephanie) Gilligan; siblings, Rowene, Patty, Iona, Judy, Kathleen, Christine, Mary Beth, Michael and Karen; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley), Lauren, Conner, Gauge, Hannah (Justin), Hunter and Courtney; and great-grandchildren, Knox, Greyson, Emery and Wyatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Ted and Terry; baby sister, Lynn Carol; granddaughters, Brittany and Meghan; and a son-in-law, Scott Kale.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Sager Memorial Park, Bristolville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local hospice organization of your choice in Jerome's memory.
