Jason K. Vadas 1975-2026
CORTLAND — Jason K. Vadas, 51, passed away Friday evening, March 6, 2026, at his residence.
Jason was born Feb. 17, 1975, in Warren, a son of John and Sandra “Sandy” Vadas.
He was a graduate of Lakeview High School and became a self-taught chef.
He loved to watch sports and was an avid Boston Bruins fan, along with the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Ohio State and NASCAR, especially Kurt Busch and Team USA during the Olympics. He also was an avid deer hunter and played in pool leagues through the APA starting in January 1996 and played 919 8-ball matches. He founded the bands Copyright Infringement and Hard Rock Nuttins. In addition to working as a chef, he worked as a DJ and hosted karaoke.
Jason will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Sandy Vadas; brothers, Kris (Kim) Vadas and Matthew Vadas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his good friends, Kayla, Tammy, Frankie, Boston and Donnie; and his best buddy, Rocco.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Vadas, and his brother, Kevin Vadas.
A celebration of life will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the 4-Star Diner in Cortland. Family and friends can wear their favorite sports apparel or camouflage.
