NEWTON FALLS -- Jane M. Ries, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at the Vista Veranda Assisted Living, Ravenna.
She was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Newton Falls, a daughter of John Ries and Elizabeth Ann Tiefenbach Ries.
She was employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools and was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Newton Falls.
Survivors include her brothers, James and Joseph Ries; three nieces; six nephews; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by one sister; one brother; and one nephew.
Calling hours will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the James Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Newton Falls.
