Floyd Marquette 1935-2026
NEWTON FALLS — Floyd “Buck” Marquette, 91, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 14, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Floyd A. and Ada Thompson Marquette.
A 1954 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Floyd worked at General Electric Ohio Lamp, retiring after 40 years of employment. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Eagles Club. Floyd enjoyed his trips to Canada and he loved to be outdoors, especially fishing or hiking. In recent years, he and Donna spent their winters in Florida, looking forward to the sunshine and happy hours with friends. He had a knack for gardening and growing vegetables. He had a gift as a carpenter and craftsman, and he could take any concept and bring it to life. Floyd was the quintessential family man: kind, patient, hard-working and a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Precious memories of Floyd live on with his beloved wife of nearly 41 years, Donna J. Schick Marquette, whom he married May 30, 1985; his son, Mark Marquette of Warren; four daughters, Michele Davis (Levi) of Washington state, Darlene Cozadd (Keith) of Virginia, Valerie Bobbett (Scott) of Washington state and Tiffany Ford of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Rob (Megan) and Chad (Cassie) Kennedy, Angel Sardina (Mario), Joshua, Jacob and Brittany Marquette, Sarah Bollum (Brady) and Chaney Ford; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Matson and Cecelia Koncsol, both of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and their families who love him dearly and think of him fondly.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will follow at 5 p.m. Military honors will be conferred. All who knew and loved Floyd are welcome to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.
Arrangements are entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated to serving your loved ones. This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com.
