Edward L. H. Benard 1949-2026

He was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Money, Mississippi, a son of Edward Benard and Ceola Howard Hardin, and stepfather, William Hardin.

He retired from General Motors Lordstown and was a member of St. John Ministries Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include fiancee, Linda Dorsey; children, Charlotte Blue of Verbena, Alabama, Marsha Crometey of Aurora, Colorado, Tracey Benard, Angel Dorsey, Lyndell Bernard and Edward Bernard Jr., all of Warren, Charles Roper of Mansfield and Tony Roper of Conway, South Carolina; siblings, Donna Moore, Edward Bernard, Kim Patello, Charles Bernard, Arella Browning, Mark Moore, Clifford Bernard, Sharon Bernard, Keith Moore, Charlene Bernard, Earl Bernard, Jerry Moore and Pamela Bernard; as well as several grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by sons,ß Derek Dorsey and EJ Roper.

Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Greater St. John COGIC, with services at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
