Dennis ‘Rocky’ Hiltner 1950-2026

WARREN -- Dennis "Rocky" Hiltner, 75, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026.

Born in Akron, he spent most of his life in Warren, where he was known for his gentle nature, kind heart and deep devotion to the things he loved most.

Rocky had a lifelong passion for music and was proudly known as a devoted Beatles fan. There wasn't a Beatles album he didn't own, and over the years he built an extensive music collection that brought him great joy. Music was a constant in his life and something he loved sharing with others. He also had a special love for animals, especially cats. His beloved cat, Panther, was a cherished companion, and if he could have, Rocky would have gladly given every stray kitty a loving home.

Rocky's strong Christian faith guided his life. He began each day with prayer and carried a deep love for God throughout his life.

Rocky shared many years of love and companionship with his life partner, Lucy Candelmo.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hiltner; his sister, Nancy Muzyczka and her husband, Russell Muzyczka; his nephew, John Muzyczka; and his great-nephew, Maxwell Muzyczka.

He is survived by his brothers, Douglas Hiltner (Carlene Hiltner) and Terry Hiltner (Jane Hiltner). He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Tanya Muzyczka; Lisa Nelsen (Victor Nelsen) and their daughter, Anya; Julie Muzyczka and her son, Jack Muzyczka; David Hiltner (Lynne Hiltner) and their daughters, Samantha and Addison; Shannon Marchand (Peter Marchand); Kristen Rothstein (Nathan Rothstein); Zack Hiltner (Danielle Rankin) and their children, Marissa, Mason, Mackaela and Maddox; Max Hiltner (Kristi Hiltner) and their sons, Liam and Beckham; and Jake Hiltner (Taylor Hiltner) and their children, Cole and Vivian.

Rocky will be remembered for his quiet kindness, his love of music and the faith that guided his life.
