Daniel F. Mohler Sr. 1951-2026
GIRARD — Daniel F. Mohler Sr., affectionately known as “Boppie,” passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at Hospice House.
He was born Sunday, March 11, 1951, in Washington, D.C., the son of Daniel A. and Esther Trout Mohler.
Dan was a graduate of Newport High School in Newport, Pa., and pursued further education by attending a year of college. He enjoyed a fulfilling career in sales with Sysco Food Service of Cleveland, where he made lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike.
He is survived by his devoted wife, the former Carolyn Kubala, whom he married Feb. 15, 1986. Together, they nurtured a loving home for their children, twins Megan (Brandon) Greaf and Dan “Sparky” (Emily) Mohler Jr.; along with their daughter, Lauren (Steve Shacklock) Mohler, all of Liberty Township; his twin sister, Edie Lesh of Newport, Pa.; and his sister, Emily Mohler of Burnham, Pa.
Dan took great pride in his grandchildren, Allie, Jaxson, Cole, Chase and Evelyn, who brought him immense joy and happiness in his life. He also leaves several nieces and nephews whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Sloan, whose memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Dan was known for his social nature and engaging personality; he had a remarkable gift of gab that drew people in. His passions included his beloved dachshund Jack, fishing and hunting. He touched many lives with his warm spirit and zest for life.
Notably, Dan was a liver recipient from Lifebanc, a milestone he considered one of his proudest accomplishments, which led him to become a volunteer at Lifebanc.

Visitation will take place noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the McCauley Funeral Home, 230 Broadway Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
As we remember Daniel F. Mohler Sr., we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep connection to family and friends. His legacy will undoubtedly resonate within their hearts for years to come.
