BRANDON, Fla. -- Barbara Fowler Kennell, 89, of Brandon, Florida, and formerly of Brookfield, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
She was born April 29, 1936, in Hartford, the daughter of Joseph and Fern Fry Fowler.
Barbara was a graduate of Hartford High School.
Although for most of her life she was a homemaker, Barbara worked six years as a teacher's aide in the Maplewood Local School District.
She was preceded in death on Oct. 2, 1998, by her husband, James R. Kennell, whom she married on Oct. 12, 1957.
A member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, Barbara enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, church activities, golf and bowling.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Joseph (Sandra) Kennell of Front Royal, Virginia; two daughters, Carole Ann (Jim) Piccorelli of Brandon, Florida, and Kathy Lee (David) Lorden of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Allan Fowler; a sister, Milli Wilcoxson; a brother-in-law, Simon Milton Kennell; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and siblings, David Fowler, Dorothy Thompson, Margaret Ball, Janet Morrison and Florence King.
Friends and relatives may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Galloway Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 State Route 7, Hartford, OH 44424.
An additional hour of visitation will take place before the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the funeral home.
