MIDDLEFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Alvin S. Erb, 96, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at home.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1930, in Wayne County, a son of Sam L. and Lydia Shetler Erb.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include his children, Phineas Erb, Ida Troyer and Roy Erb; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Troyer Erb; daughters, Marie Erb and Ruth Erb; one grandchild; and one brother.
Services have taken place.
Interment will be in Nauvoo Road Cemetery, Middlefield Township.
Arrangements were by Best Funeral Home.
