MAUI, Hawaii -- Thomas A. Ellway passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at the age of 74.
He was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Warren, the son of Edwin R. and Mary G. Arnal Ellway.
Tom grew up in Cortland, graduating in 1970 from Lakeview High School. He was active in sports, marching band and Boy Scouts.
He continued his education at Kent State University, earning a degree in industrial arts. While there, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, serving as president.
Tom went on to establish a successful business (Maui Wood Doors) in Kahului, Maui.
Tom had many friends because of his kind and gentle personality. He enjoyed golfing and the beach.
He leaves behind his children, Robin (Tristan) White and Jonathan (Kylee) Ellway; six grandchildren, whom he adored, Jasper, Maile-Rose, Lilian and Sean White, and Ember and Aroura Ellway; a sister, Patricia (Louis) DeMarco; one brother, Kevin (Teresa) Ellway; and one niece, Emily Ellway.
Tom will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Burial was at Valley Isle Memorial Park, Maui.
