CHAMPION -- Richard J. Kadvan, 78, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, 2026, at Hospice House in Poland.
Richard was born July 5, 1947, in Warren, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Kadvan.
He was a student in the first graduating class of John F. Kennedy High School in 1965 and continued his education at Youngstown State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.
He retired from Delphi Packard as a human resources manager.
He enjoyed collecting antique clocks, trains, stick and ball tables, elephants and Persian rugs. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, JFK Eagles and the Champion Flashes. In the winters, he spent time at his home in Florida, where he would relax on his balcony and watch the water and dolphins. He also enjoyed riding in his hot rods. He loved being with his family, especially watching his granddaughters' extracurricular activities at Champion.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children, Stacy Munroe and Jason (Rochelle) Kadvan; his significant other of 24 years, Michele Philbin, and her daughter, Courtney Philbin; grandchildren, Samantha Lynn and Alexa Jo Munroe; and sister, Linda (Richard) DuCharme.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may visit 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren. A memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna, OH 44473, or Champion Local Schools, in care of the athletic boosters, in his memory.
