MIDDLEFIELD -- Patricia D. Bass Criss, 77, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, 2026, at Geauga Hospital. Patricia was a resident at Ohman Family Living at Briar in Middlefield.
She was born Nov. 20, 1948, in Ravenna, a daughter of Louis E. and Mary E. Bennett Bass.
She was a caregiver and worked at several local nursing homes in Portage County throughout her life.
Patricia is survived by her adopted children, David and Amy; her family, Joyce Petersen (who was also her caregiver), Rosella Swonger, Sandy McKinnon, Tim Swonger and Ken Swonger.
She was preceded in death by her companion of 40 years, Eugene Swonger; and a sister.
There will be no services at this time.
Arrangements were handled by Best Funeral Home, Middlefield.
