CORTLAND -- Marlene N. Boorn, 88, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1937, in Vernon, a daughter of Floyd Hunt Smith Sr. and June Cora Keeler Smith.
Marlene worked for the Bristol Local School District for 33 years as a bus driver. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, making flower arrangements and gardening, and was a member of the Bristol Garden Club.
She is survived by her children, Delano George Boorn Jr. and Alan Floyd Boorn, both of Bristolville; Elaine June Love of Cortland; David J. Boorn of California; and Annette Faye Moore of Blacksburg, South Carolina; sister, Lurine Lawson of Pennsylvania; brothers, Floyd H. Smith Jr. of Kinsman and Larry W. Smith of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, D. George Boorn Sr.; sons, Earl Warren Boorn and Harlan Quintin Boorn; siblings, Merle Smith Sr., Susie Applegate and Glenn Smith; as well as two grandsons, Jason Boorn and John Ross Barbe.
A celebration of life will be 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Bristol Fire Hall.
Interment will be in Sager Memorial Park, Bristolville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
