John L. Read 1946-2026

John was born Aug. 10, 1946, in Warren, a son of the late Edward Arthur Read and Louise Virginia Wyndham Read.

John graduated from Newton Falls High School, Class of 1964. John went on to get his master’s degree in business from Ohio University. He then worked as a manager at Packard Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Prior to his residence at Country Club, John lived in Kent since 2000 and was formerly of Cortland.

John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from February 1969 to September 1970.

He loved listening to music, sailing, snowskiing and waterskiing.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Louise Read.

He is survived by three sisters, Susan Huffman of Austintown, Kristi Gibson and Wendy Read, both of Newton Falls; three brothers, Edward Read, Eric Read and David Read, all of Newton Falls; special friends, Kevin and Robin Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
